A foreign
company based in the United Arab Emirates has announced plans to construct free
houses for thousands
vulnerable families in Kenya.

Arada,
a Sharjah-based property developer, teamed up with The Big Heart Foundation
(TBHF) and the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) to
set the homes for 2,000 refugees.

Arada’s
houses will be built in the Kalobeyi Settlement in Kenya’s
Northern region in the month of Ramadhan.

The
new initiative, dubbed Home for a Home, is part of the company’s new luxury
real estate project in Masaar Community, UAE.

Arada
is expected to build 4,000 villas in the community, which are expected to
be completed in the first quarter of 2023.

The
houses will be designed by the UNHCR, which is in charge of the project in
Kenya.

world’s most vulnerable and suffering.”

lives of refugees in Kenya, mirroring the UAE community’s humanitarian values
and principles, which include all citizens and residents in order to help
refugees and those in need around the world,” said Arada Chairman Sheikh
Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi.

houses will be built in Kenya for every villa sold in the Masaar Community
during Ramadhan

Buyers
will be given a plot in the settlement scheme on which to construct a home for
the refugees. They will also be updated on the project’s progress on a regular
basis.

The
two partners stated that part of their project is to invest in the area’s water
supply to ensure that 43,000 people, including refugees and the community, have
access to clean water.
